Samson Shad — Long Casting Sub Surface Sinking Lure
The Samson Shad is a highly versatile and effective sub surface sinking lure designed to mimic the erratic movement of a fleeing or injured baitfish — an irresistible target for predatory species.
Action & Retrieval Techniques:
- Walk the Dog: A slow to medium retrieve with light rod tip taps creates an unpredictable side-to-side motion just below the surface.
- Fleeing Baitfish: Stronger rod pulls followed by short pauses send the Shad darting through open water — a proven trigger for aggressive strikes.
- Vibrating Action: Rip the lure through the water for a distinct vibrating pulse, sending distress signals fish can’t ignore.
- Depth Control: Work the rod tip down for sub surface action, or allow the lure to sink with a longer pause for deeper water columns.
- Shallow Waters: Keep the rod tip high and retrieve quickly to avoid snags in rocky shallows, making a splash to draw in nearby predators.
Built for Performance:
- Heavy-duty treble hooks for solid hook sets
- Wired-through design using high-strength materials for maximum durability
- Premium rigging and fittings for reliable performance
- Weighted for long-distance casting — perfect for punching through strong onshore winds
- Virtually indestructible — ideal for fishing sharp rocks and battling toothy pelagics
- Handmade lathe-turned design ensuring precision casting every time
Target Species:
The Samson Shad is a go-to lure for a wide range of saltwater predators, including:
Bass, GTs, Bluefish, Tuna, Sea Trout, Snapper, Roosterfish, Jacks, Mackerel, Kingfish, Queenfish, Leerfish, and other fast-moving pelagics.
Pro Tip: This sinking lure is just as effective when retrieved from deeper waters, making it a versatile weapon in any angler's tackle box.
